The 1st annual Ardrey Kell 5k was created in an effort to benefit college-bound students from Ardrey Kell High School by raising funds to support a college tuition assistance scholarship program.
Higher education, in many cases, provides a path of economic prosperity that benefits the individual and the community in which he or she lives and works. However, the cost of higher education has become increasingly expensive for families as federal and state budgets have reduced education funding and limited the number of scholarships. As a result, prospective students have had to take on more student loan debt or parents have had to contribute a larger share of their income to pay for it.
The primary goal of each volunteer and sponsor involved with the Ardrey Kell 5k Race is to minimize the challenges of paying for college while maximizing the opportunities that are afforded by it. Further, we are committed to making the Ardrey Kell 5k an annual event that will give future classes of college-bound students a financial boost for years to come.
